The Tallis Scholars is a professional British early music vocal ensemble founded by Peter Phillips with an extensive catalogue of recordings – perhaps the most famous being their 1980 recording of Allegri’s Miserere on the Classics for Pleasure label.
Peter Phillips (born 15 October 1953) is a British choral conductor and musicologist. He was the founder of The Tallis Scholars in 1973 and of Gimell Records (with Steve Smith) in 1980. (Wikipedia)
